Cool Tip

I have a very wide foot with a very high arch. I try to buy New Balance shoes with a 4E width, the widest, because when you're on your feet all day, they can swell a little, and when your feet hurt, you're whole body hurts. (at least mine does) My right foot has been giving me some pain while on the treadmill, and I was getting concerned and worried about it because I don't want anything to keep me from doing my exercise schedule. I tried different shoes, different socks, and nothing helped.  Today, before the treadmill, before stretching, I put on my shoes and loosened the laces, A LOT. Then I tied it very loose. Thank God that seams to have helped me, and I thought maybe it might help someone else with the same problem. Never workout when you know you are injureid because that'll only make it worse!  Always get shoes that fit your feet, size and width! Have a great workout!

Hello people! I feel 100% better today than I did yesterday. While on the treadmill yesterday, about 15 minutes into it, everything was normal, sweaty, moving, pain in right foot, the all of a sudden, COLD CHILL BUMPS, with chills. I finished my set but I was weak, sick to my stomach, and just felt weird. The night before I couldn't sleep, and I had a lot of drainage, thanks to the seasons changing, so I'm hoping that's what it was, and that it doesn't happen again.   So todays total 56 minutes, 2.75 miles, and 354 calories. I don't want to push my luck so I was kind of gentle today, no jogging, or Frankenstein walking. I will, hopefully do some weight work, upper or lower, tonight or tomorrow! Have a great workout!

Starting New Schedule!

Not feeling too well at the moment. Light headed and very nauseous, but today's totals 2.74 miles and 352 calories. Will write more later...

Because I am changing my weekly schedule, this is my total for week 3.Miles 5.58 miles and  903 claories. Not perfect but better than a zero! Have a great work out!!

STARTING SUNDAY 27 September 2009

Starting this Sunday 9/27/09 I will start a new schedule and way that I count my days. From Sunday on I will count my week from Sunday to Saturday. My goal is to workout 4 times a week on the treadmill, because I need the cardio to help me lose the weight. My plan is to exercise Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday. That's my plan and since I have my weights now I'll incorporate those into the program also. I'm hoping that it'll be cool enough in the afternoons to carry out my plans.  Also, I am donating blood tomorrow for the American Red Cross, so I will not be doing any exercise that day. Did you know that something like 40 % of the population can donate blood, but only 3% do. Did you know that my one donation can save the lives of 3 people. 3 people, that's amazing. Please donate today because you never know when you are a family member or dear friend my need some to live.

Forgiveness is Golden

I got some dumbbells yesterday, on clearance from where else, but Wally's World (WALMART). I got the 40 il. set that I can adjust the weights on them. I actually got them out today and did 3 sets of 12 curls. Today I aslo did 55 minutes, 2.79 miles, and 359 calories. YEAH!!  I did a good treadmill workout but not as involved as most. I don't know why it was a little different but it was and I forgive myself! In the exercise and diet world it's great to do what needs to be done, and somedays we don't or can't for whatever reason, but we have to FORGIVE OURSELF! Don't let your reasoning tell you..."Well I already messed up today so might as well binge". NO, don't do this. Forgive youself and start again tomorrow: fresh, new and ready!!  I did do my treadmill so I am satisfied that I did what was to be done for this day to reach my goal. All natural means humanly natural, not humanly perfect!! Love yourself and have a great workout!!

I LOST WEIGHT!!!!!!!!

It's official, I've lost 5 pounds since starting my new life!! I am so happy, I just wish I could see the loss somewhere, but I am still elated!! I have hope and inspiration to keep me going now!! I got some dumb bells so I'll do my treadmill stuff and add some upper arm strenghtening! See you tomorrow!! Have a great workout!! WEIGHT 173!

Forgive Me, I am a New Blogger

I am learning the ins and outs of blogging so please be patient with me! All of life is millions of journeys, and you are going with me on a lot of mine as I learn how to blog, how to exercise and eat right, so WELCOME on Flight (to) 120!!

I"M BACK!!!!

Yes, I know, I haven't been here or on the treadmill since Sunday, even after I said I was going to walk more. My problem is I need to set a schedule and stick to it! I go to school 4 days a week, have homework, and lots of studying to do, and some days I do get home late, ( I am a morning person!) but I CAN set a reasonable schedule and do my best. I think next week I'll start on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, and hopefully it won't be over 80 or 85 degrees next week because it does get too hot in the workout room, and I'm in no condition to benefit from a heated workout like heated yoga, so wish me well for next week!! This week...Today..55 minutes, 346 calories, and 2.69 miles. I did 5 minutes of marching with high knees!! I am going to do some leg exercises with wts, in a little while. The weather is perfect here in Garland/Dallas, Texas today! First day of Fall and it's beautiful!

Second Week COMPLETED!!

Yes!! I DID IT!! 55 minutes, 2.74 miles, 350 Cal. I am confused on how to calculate distance for the week so from now on I will do Sun to Saturday SO I've walked from last Sun. til Sat. (yesterday) only 8.49 miles but 994 calories! As we all should know for every 3500 calories in or out of your body is equal to 1 pound, so at this rate I'll only get rid of a little over 1 pound a month. PLEASE DON"T QUOTE ME ON THIS!! I will do research and get back to you!  BUT I feel 100% better than when I started. I can tell my endurance is up and that's great PLUS I am not having to force my self everyday: I look forward to it: it's me time!!I give myself six weeks to (hopefully) see some improvements, but I do see mental gaine already also.
FYI-Claire Bear is learning to give herself (and family members) insulin injections and feeling a little better! Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!!

Weight Lifting!!!

Well, I did it! I started doing a short lower body workout with ab work included. I used ankle weights and did donkey kicks and inner and outer thigh lifts. I did lower and upper abs. I have some 40 lb.. dumb bells waiting to be picked up at Walmart that I plan on using for my upper body training. NO, I DO NOT WANT HUGE MUSCLES, I just want to use my muscles so they'll firm up and tone the rest of my body. The only problem I have with this is that I do honestly become addicted to it. That's my main goal of the day: either upper or lower along with cardi (treadmill 55 minute min.) Oh WELL, I could be addicted to something worse...

Keep On Truckin'!!

I know that title shows my age, 50, but to work out today was kind of a chore. I found out yesterday that my eldest neice, Claire, has SWINE FLU and was also diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Her pancrease is almost  gone and doctors are saying something about an insulin pump, so needless to say, I wasn't in the mood to workout. But I did and I feel better for it. It took some tension and stress out of my body. Please keep everyone who is less fortunate, troubled, or ill in your prayers.We should all be thankful every minute for what we have!!   TODAY 's totals 55 minute, 350 calories, 265 miles. AMEN!! I DID IT AGAIN!!

You just don't know how proud I am of myself for forcing myself to do this little workout!! It may be little compared to what I used to do or even what you do now, but every little bit does something good for your body, mind, and soul!! Today 55 minutes, 2.87 miles, and 357 calories burned. I do arm work like curls, butterflys, shoulder presses, and I even do standing pushups with feet off the band and press on the arm rest. I walked slowly backwards to Rihanna, I do girlie walks and sway hips forcefully to and fro, I do lunges.  I walk slow and then jog, then slow; back and forth to burn those calories. I try to incorporate alot into one! I wish you well on your road to success and drop me hints or inspirational ideas that motivate you! Have a great workout!!

I am Human, LIKE You!

Some days it's hard to do the right thing. Take today, for instance, I went to class, and got home around 3 p, which is not late, but IT'S STILL raining (3rd day, or 4th?) and I really just wanted to chill out this afternoon, after freakin' out in Pharmacology class!! So, anyway, I am drinking a glass of white wine, blogging, and looking on the internet for anything to HELP me in Pharm. class. Everyone has days that they know what needs to be done, but decide to not do right. EVERYONE DOES THIS!!! EVERYONE! It does not make you a bad person, nor does it mean to go eat the gallon of blue bell home made (Vanilla). ALL this means is you buckle down tomorrow and do your routine then!! Just do what you need to do 3-4 times a week minimum, watch what you eat everyday, and be happy that you are doing something constructive for yourself!! Until tomorrow.......Have a Blessed Day!

ONE WEEK DOWN!!

I have officially been doing my routine for one week. Today 50 minutes on treadmill, 3.05 miles, 287 cal. burned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  One week down and I feel great!! I don't look better, yet, but I will! I have walked 10.94 miles this week! How far have you??

YEAH!!! One week gone with GREAT Start!!

Just got off the treadmill, and I am dripping BUT, YEAH!!! 55 minutes, 2.68 miles, and I burned 368 calories. New this work out on tread mill, I walked backwards, slowly for all of Umbella, by Rhiana, and I added slow mid knee march, also I do arm exercises with slower walk. I do raise my pulse along with the speed but I also do a strech before and after.
ALSO I started drinking a min. of 1 glass red or white wine. I still dronk my 1-2 tablespoon of allple cider vinegar in mornings. I am doing great with my food intake. Thank GOODNESS, I think I may be getting into that addiction again!!!

A CLOUDY, COOLER & RAINY DAY!!!!!!!!!

Today the weather is trying to make me happy. I LOVE THIS WEATHER!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE FALL!! No school today and it's a Friday, so I did what ever person who is starting an exercise program does ever once in a while....I posponed it til tomorrow! Yes, I do feel guilty about it, but I didn't sleep well, no excuse, but I PROMISE to get my routine in order this week. I want to blog to help myself reach my goals and maybe inspire some others along the way. And, with me being 100% honest, we will all see we are all so much alike in our motivation and excuses, so no one should feel badly about them self. JUST BECAUSE I'M exercising tomorrow DOES NOT MEAN EAT EVERYTHING. Keep some control so you'll feel better about stuff that's not 100%!! Enjoy the weather and I'll blog ya tomorrow!!!

Do Your Best but Pace Yourself

Today is a late day in school so I'm posting early. If you didn't notice this...THERE ARE ADS on MY BLOG!!!   BUT my main goal is to lose weight, firm uo, tone up , and slim down naturally, with only my will power as a weapon, not over the counter meds that only help you lose your money.

FYI, Yes, I do drink a protein shake as a meal sub BUT I don't eat eggs, meat, or animal protein so I get my protein elsewhere. For the record I drink and love my Herbal life Heathy meal protein shake mix and personal protein mix. I love the taste when I mix it with 8th Continent LIGHT Vanilla Flavored Soy Milk.

I hope to get this blog organised soon. I am learning as I go, but my main goal is to shape up NATURALLY!!

No Matter What Exercise You Do (alot or a little) BE HAPPY!!

I am doing my best to get back into the exercise& endorphin, swing. I DO KNOW for a fact it WILL KICK IN, but today, in the backyard house/exercise room it is TOO DANG HOT, and that was before I started the treadmill. I did do 25 minutes, 3.5 miles per hour and slower, close to 2 miles. Now I know that I need to exercise earlier in the morn or move the tread mill out of the sun. Hopefully when it cools down that won't be a problem. I am being faithful on the eating part, sensible and healthy and LESS!! I would say I should work out later at night, and I might some days, but I am a morning person; besides I have homework and test to study for. For my medical insurance friends, this code is for you... today's code describes how I felt doing the treadmill in 100 degrees...569.42!!!
Just remember, everyone and anyone who is trying to change anything in their life, progress may be slow but slow and steady wins the race, PLUS when the accomplishments start impacting your mental status, (& those great endorphins!!) the journey will also be enjoyable!! CJ's New Start 2009 or I'M NOT 2 OLD G

TODAY is the 1st day of my new start on life and what better way than to to blog publicly about it. As many who know me, my recent life has been pretty blessed and pretty crappy, pick and choose, but I have decided to turn my life around for the better.
I am currently in ElCentro College, at 50 years of age, to hopefully and with Jesus on my side, get a better paying job that does value me a educated, loyal, dependable, and dedicated employee; unlike my last job, but more on that later.
I am again, as of today, dedicating myself, inner and outer, to a dedicated, tride and true exercise and wt. loss plan, and/or regiment. First let me state that I have never in my life been this obese nor weighed this much, except while pg with my daughter Leah. For the record, and it's not a secret from my medical assistant classmates, I am 5' 1 and I weigh 178 lbs. I KNOW, GOOD GOSH???!! BUT, I do know that exercise and watching what you eat is the only true way to get healthy and look good. In 2006, I weighed 119, and that is my goal. Let me say that YES, I know it will not be fast nor easy, but I will do it!!!
Today, Labor Day, 9/7/9, Monday I drank my herbal life protein and I drank 1 tablespoon of Allpe Cider vinegar in about 1/4 cup diet coke. Yes, it tasted and smelled awful, but I heard it helps lower your body's BMI. And then I grabbed my Phillip's CD player, my JVC headphones, my new Total Club Hits with TI, Plies,Rihanna,Shawty low,Chris Brown, Missy Elliot, and Flo Rider to name a few, threw all that in a cross over bag and hit the tread mill.
Today's total-2.77 miles, 54 minutes, 340 approx. cal. burned.
